The Beyer Blinder Belle Foundation is pleased to announce a new annual scholarship program benefiting Department of Architecture students at Howard University, College of Engineering and Architecture. The new scholarship continues the foundation’s empowerment of socially-conscious design and planning that directly benefits communities.
Howard University, College of Engineering and Architecture
This year’s grant of $30,000 by the Foundation to Howard University, College of Engineering and Architecture will support the academic and professional development of three current architecture students. Intended to increase professional mobility, the program also includes a paid summer internship at Beyer Blinder Belle for one scholarship recipient.
The 2021 awardees include Dean Bailey (’23), Khadija Callender (’21), and Jemima Pierre (’23), each of will receive a $10,000 scholarship. In addition, Khadija Callender will join BBB as a summer intern in the Washington, DC office.
Going forward, the scholarship and paid internship will be awarded annually to one architecture student entering their third or fourth year of college at Howard University. This initial scholarship gift will serve as the start of a growing partnership between BBBF and Howard University.
